05 - CAN FIRMS BE POSITIONED BASED ON AN IQ VALUE?


ABSTRACT
Since the beginning of the industrial revolution, particularly at the end of the XIXth and beginning of the XXth century, numerous researchers have been obsessed with the problems on management and on ways to 10 develop a new identity and personality to firms.
Observations made, gave place to a quantity of studies which opened the way to the efforts of development and continuance. Moreover, these observations introduced new concepts on which one is called to think over. The end of the XXth century marks the beginning of the third millennium, when two subjects start to attract the attention: Knowledge Management, and Intelligence.
An increasing number of firms are looking for distinctive criteria that will make them stand out from others. Would Intelligence and Knowledge Management make this difference? The principles of success are mainly based on competencies, leadership and management practices, finality of actions, continuous development, performance, behavior, brand image, personality, risk-taking and decision-making. Isn't it, finally, the case of managing information with intelligence? Is it, then, possible to position a firm among others based on its IQ concept?
